Youth News

Westwood Baptist Church will join churches across the state at noon on Friday, April 20, to observe a time of prayer and reflection as requested by Governor Tim Kaine on behalf of the victims, their families, and the students and faculty members at Virginia Tech University. The service, led by ministers from Westwood Baptist Church and Rev. Larry Lee, Pastor of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, is open to all who would come to share their grief and remember those whose lives have been forever changed by this tragedy.

There will be a candlelight vigil in memory of Leslie Sherman and all victims and survivors of the Virginia Tech shooting at West Springfield High School on Saturday, April 21, at 7:30 PM at the flag pole.

You are invited to Stephen's Ordination Service this Sunday, April 22, at 3 PM. All youth and their families are invited and encouraged to attend the service and the reception that follows. It would mean a lot to me if you are there! There will be NO Youth Dinner or FaithStation that night!

The 'Displace Me' Invisible Children Event takes place Saturday, April 28, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Check it out online at http://www.invisiblechildren.com/displaceMe. Email Stephen if you want to participate in this event!

Make sure you check out the calendar at the bottom of the blog to keep informed about upcoming events.
